posted 05/10/2011 Hello members,
I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful spring weather that is finally upon us!
It is time to get registration rolling for next season at all levels of play from learn to skate/hockey development through our squirt aged travel team players.
For next season KYH will have teams at the squirt (at least one) and mite (at least two) levels plus our learn to skate and hockey development programs. For any level of travel team that will have more than one team "evaluations" will be held in the fall at which time a panel of coaches will determine which team will be most appropriate for each individual player.
We are asking that all returning players at the mite and squirt levels, including new mites moving up from learn to skate/hockey development submit registration forms and deposit by May 20, 2011 as we will open registration up to new skaters at that time. This is very important because we have limited space available on the rosters and although we very much believe in honoring the loyalty of our returning players, we also need to fill the roster spots and once we open up registration to the general public we will need to stick to what we are telling people. Once we have filled a roster at a certain level we will begin a "waiting list" if there is enough interest from more skaters until we have enough to form an additional team and those players families will be kept up to date on that information.
For now, what we need is pretty simple. Please print and fill out the registration form located in the documents section of the website. While you are in the documents section, please read the zero tolerance piece as you will need to sign the registration form stating you have done so. Next you will need to visit the USA Hockey website and register your child as a player. They have simplified the forms even more for this year, it is very quick to fill out I just did it for my children. There is a $30 charge for this unless the child was born in 2005 or later in which case there is no charge. Please mail the registration form, USAHockey confirmation form and non refundable deposit of $200 to the address given on the registration form. There is no need to send any of the other forms from the documents section in at this time, and the parent's handbook is in the process of being updated, so don't worry about that at this time either. We will take care of having these signed for at the beginning of next season.
As in the past we are offering a special incentive to any family wishing to make payment in full at this time. Those details are in the payment box located on the registration form. On that same note, some families had mentioned over the past few years that a 3 part payment plan might be helpful, so we have set that up for this year to make payments a bit easier to budget for. Please be mindful of payment deadlines though, as late payment charges will be very strictly enforced this year.
One more note which isn't exactly registration, but something many have been requesting. We will have an equipment swap over the summer. This is a great opportunity for all of our families to get some great deals and and for some of our families to clean out a shelf in the garage. More details on this to follow as to a date and location as soon as I can firm it up.
If you have any question as to what level your child should be skating at please don't hesitate to email or call me and I will help you as best I can.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from all of you!
